"We The People . . ."
From Julie's Keyboard:Dec.. 9, 2006
…..”Who is this man? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!” Mark 4:41
What If Jesus showed up and calmed your storm??
In this passage of scripture we see the encounter of the storm blowing up on the lake and filling the boat carrying Jesus and His disciples to the other side. We know Jesus is asleep in the boat and the disciples wake Him for their fear of perishing. We then see that Jesus takes action by speaking to the wind and the waves and creating a great calm in its stead. He then questions the faith of His disciples who were not only afraid of dying in the storm, but their fear appeared even greater after Jesus caused such results.
We should have an even greater understanding than that of the disciples in their generation. What will Jesus say of us today should we find ourselves in the midst of some storm of life? Are we afraid? Is our faith weak? Do we believe He is and always will be More than enough? What will we do with the authority that He left to us?
As we approach this wonderful season let us thank God for the babe in the manger. Let us thank God for the child that grew into a man never knowing a life of sin. We should thank God for our Savior who became sin for us and died then rose again to redeem us for a people unto Him. Yet, let us thank God that He gave us the authority to use His name to do the works that He did. When He comes, will He find us doing so….
Have a blessed week!
Julie

Personal Note: A friend of mine sent these Preambles to me over the weekend, after reading them over again it provoked me once more. This nation and the people of each State have a Constitutional right to acknowledge God. But we have let the Courts of this land rob us of our God given freedom that so many have fought and died for.
We have let them rob us of the very foundation that was laid at our feet, and we have swallowed it hook line and sinker! Most of our children have been taught to believe that separation of Church and State is somehow in the Constitution.
Thus they are able to take the bait! Someone must tell them truth! If our children and posterity then want to change it, they have a legal means provided through the Constitution, but for their sakes, tell them the truth so they can decide.
The issue in Alabama with Justice Moore and the Ten Commandments Monument came down to the question, "Can the State acknowledge God?" The Court said "NO" and Justice Moore was removed from office and the monument removed and placed in a closet.
This was all done in the open on national TV and "We the People" let it happen. It is clear, it don’t take a lawyer to understand by reading through our State Preambles that it was intended for the State to have the right to acknowledge God. But the Court said, "NO" and we said, "OK"
When I hear these folks on TV agreeing with the silly Court decision, I must conclude they too are and have been deceived, or they are either lying to promote their agenda. Either way it is harmful and destructive to our society.
Pardon me for my frankness, I’ve just been provoked again!
May God bless each of you,
David & Julie

The monument also bears quotes from: the Declaration of Independence ("Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"); our National Motto ("In God We Trust"); the Pledge of Allegiance ("One Nation Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice for All"); and the Judiciary Act of 1789 ("So Help Me God").
FRONT PANEL Ten Commandments Monument
"The laws of nature are the laws of God; whose authority can be superseded by no power on earth." George Mason 1772
"Laws of nature and of nature's God" Declaration of Independence 1776
"The transcendent law of nature and of nature's God, which declares that the safety and happiness of society are the objects at which all political institutions aim, and to which all such institutions must be sacrificed."
James Madison
"This law of nature, being co-eval with mankind and dictated by God Himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; ?upon these two foundations, the law of nature and the law of revelation, depend all human laws; that is to say, no human laws should be suffered to contradict these." William Blackstone
LEFT SIDE PANEL Ten Commandments Monument
"The inclusion of God in our pledge therefore would further acknowledge the dependence of our people and our government upon the moral directions of the Creator." Legislative History
"One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Pledge of Allegiance, 1954
"Human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law which is divine." James Wilson

BACK PANEL Ten Commandments Monument
"Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?" George Washington
"So help me God." Judiciary Act of 1789
"The greater part of evidence will always consist of the testimony of witnesses. This testimony is given under those solemn obligations which an appeal to the God of Truth impose; and if oaths should cease to be held sacred, our dearest and most valuable rights would become insecure." John Jay
